Character Dialog

Task

Choose any 3 of your newly 'constructed' characters and script a conversation between them.

The characters do not know each other well. They are sharing a train seating compartment, and are 2 hours into a 6 hour journey.

Have them discuss their desires, and fears, while keeping in mind their motivations.

Constraints

  • Each character must be from a different story.
  • The first character must use words of 4 letters or less.
  • The second character must speak in rhyme.
  • The third character must never use the letters 'r', 's', or 't'.
  • The conversation must be exactly 101 words in length.
  • The dialog must be believeable. (Yes, I realize this is subjective.)

Response

Sharlene Vandershee: "I do not know why they put me in here with you guys. I need my room!"

Buck Benny: "Perhaps it's simply a lack of space, the train is booked and this is your place."

Sharlene Vandershee: "Well I can not go to a new one, this will have to do."

Geoffrey Mann: "Chance can give one a new avenue."

Sharlene Vandershee: "What do you mean by that?"

Buck Benny: "I may be wrong, or I may be right, I think he's saying to enjoy this night."

Sharlene Vandershee: "So what do you men do?"

Buck Benny: "I seek vengeance for my sister's death, I hunt Kenny Carver until my last breath."

Geoffrey Mann: "I find meaning."

Comments

Try writing a sentence with no 'r', 's' or 't'. Go on, try it. I didn't include the names in the word count, just the dialog.

Glutton Comments

You hack! I'll give you a clue. ;)

Bob, a moody hobo, won a mickey of vodka (and a medal) by winning a complex video game.
